How I became a virtual assistant.
Now I have never been ambitious, I just wanted a happy, easy life doing whatever came my way. I have also always been someone who has prided themselves on being highly organised and prepared in my life, so when I came across the idea of working as a Virtual Assistant, it became a strong aspect of my future plans.
Then after meeting my husband, Lewis, he introduced me to the back stage life of the wedding world, seeing all the work that each vendor does and how much effort goes into each aspect of their jobs. I realised that I wanted to niche into the wedding industry and work amongst these amazing individuals!
Having worked in various offices, specialising in payroll / admin / technical support / diary management / customer service and companies, all of them adding to my experiences and teaching my different lessons to use within my business (and my personal life). With this experience, I built up what aspects of each role could play a part into becoming a Virtual Assistant.
Around 4 years ago my plans to become a Virtual Assistant really started to come into place. I started to hone my skills; taking courses to expand my knowledge and perfect skills and I started to follow other Virtual Assistants who were well established to see what they offered and how their day-to-day life panned out.
After spending a couple of years working alongside my full-time job in an office, I was made redundant so I thought that was the time to take the plunge and become self-employed (massive EEK moment!).
I properly took the time this allowed and invested in myself and my business, getting all aspects and processes fine-tuned and ready for it to be a full-time business. Finally, I felt ready and fully prepared to take the leap.
Every day I’m learning something and adapting if needed, I’m enjoying to watch my business grow and find out where this takes me!
